Because he seldom has time to pick which card he uses his power is mostly random. His aura-reading abilities are usually used by diving with cards, making it less accurate than other methods. Personality ___________ Basics of personality: Hadeon is a stick in the mud. He's not a bad guy, exactly. He just takes life and everything about it too seriously. He firmly believes that laws and rules are in place for a reason, and does his damndest to enforce said laws and rules. (As a kid he was the class squealer, the one you'd always make sure was far away before you did anything bad.) He has no sense of humor and doesn't take a joke very well. Because he takes everything at face value he can seem a bit gullible. Strengths: Loyal, trusting, strong sense of right and wrong, and fun (although more fun can be had at his expense than with him involved). Weaknesses: Gullible, stubborn, incredibly strict and law-abiding, closed-minded. He also has poor night vision because he won't take off his sunglasses. Hobbies and likes: Rules, his friends and spending time with them, old movies, and playing cards. Dislikes: People who break the laws, people who try to ruin his vision of what is right and wrong, his family. Background __________ History: Hadeon was the "good son". He was intelligent, he was law-abiding, and when it became known he was a mage when he was 15 he became a valuable asset. It seemed that no matter how good his twin brother Ivan was at something, Hadeon was ten times better. Ivan could pass a test in school, but Hadeon would have the highest grade in the class. Ivan would find a new skill with his mage abilities, and Hadeon would master it with his own. His parents lavished him with love and attention and ignored Ivan. After they completed school Hadeon was quickly accepted to a local mage school, but the only one that would accept Ivan was in Canada, which suited him just fine. Hadeon's experience at the school was painful for him. He quickly learned that being a goody two-shoes wouldn't allow him to survive in the real world, which shattered his world view and made him resent his parents. Upon leaving the school he announced he was going to Canada and there was nothing his parents could do to stop him. Once in Canada he briefly looked for Ivan in Vancouver but quickly came up empty. Instead he was recruited by the government who found out about his credentials, where he began to work for their own team of mages. Family: Mr. and Mrs. Petruso: Hadeon severed his ties with them when he went to Canada. He now views them as the enemy, someone that he must not communicate with at all costs. Ivan/Ruby Petruso: Hadeon's identical twin brother (or is that sister?), he believes that he died since he doesn't know about his sex change. As a result he has nothing to do with him/her. Friends: Jerry McIntyre: Another government-employed mage and one of Hadeon's best friends, Geraldine "Jerry" McIntyre is a cheerful young woman who smiles and laughs often, but most of the time just listens. She is the one who makes the most jokes about Hadeon's habit of wearing sunglasses all the time although he doesn't have to. Toby Feldman: Completing his little group is Tobias "Toby" Feldman, Hadeon's other best friend and partner. A joker who often pokes fun at Hadeon's lack of sense of humor, at the same time he will defend both his friends with his life.
