She runs the group more than Sherman, who is disorganized and more than a little batty. She can bind energy within her thread by notting it or weaving it various ways. The color of her thread affects what it does as well; for example, if she wanted to create a safety zone, she would knot the ends of a blue thread together. If she did something like braid a blue thread with a red one, she would create a shield that would bounce power back; a blue thread with a black one would absorb power that she could then use for herself. She can also read auras, which appear to her as threads. Personality ___________ Basics of personality: Athena could be described as prickly. She's a no-nonsense person who doesn't put up with any crap, unless it's coming from Sherman. She has great organizational skills, which she puts to use commanding the Warriors and in her own life and in Sherman's. Strengths: Very smart and organized. She graduated from GPMS, so she is obviously extremely good with her powers, especially offensively, although she doesn't know some of the theory that Sherman is learning at VAMU and then passing along to her. Weaknesses: She is extremely introverted and has a hard time making friends. If she had her way, she would never, ever talk to other people. She is also structured to the point of being obsessive compulsive. Hobbies and likes: sewing, cooking, organization Dislikes: disorganization, procrastination, being late, others who are late, mess Background __________ History: Athena was an only child; she lived a fairly normal childhood, even as her mage powers appeared when she was around fifteen. At the time she was part of a fashion design club at school. This is where she met her best friend Harmony (who was also 15, and happened to be Sherman's older sister). When Harmony was sixteen, she met a boy that she liked a whole lot and that Sherman also liked, viewing him as sort of a "big brother" figure. Athena, with her budding powers, didn't like him at all. His aura showed up as blood red thread to her. However, she was uncertain of her powers, as new as they were, and didn't want to risk alienating Harmony and Sherman, her first good friends, by saying anything about him. Sherman's powers at the time were only beginning to bud. Harmony went out with him one night and didn't come home. Sherman came over to Athena's at four am in the morning. The cops were already looking for her. Athena, who had been worried about Harmony, had tied a magical thread to her, and she and Sherman were able to follow it straight to her. When they found her, she had been murdered by the gang that her boyfriend belonged to. They had killed her when she refused to join. Sherman's power manifested then. He was wearing a red sweater and he would have incinerated half a city block if he hadn't been standing in front of Griego's. Athena and Sherman are both motivated largely through Harmony's memory. The Warriors of Light were created to prevent future crimes of the same nature, and both have vowed to track down Harmony's murderers. Harmony's dream had been to be a fashion designer, and Sherman and Athena are also trying to make that dream come true. Athena sews the clothes, and Sherman designs them. He designs his own clothes and is actually a quite famous designer. He uses his own status to push through her outfits, although ironically he's far better than she ever was. Athena attended Galahan's Private Mage School upon completion of high school; the part of her that wasn't already turned cold by Harmony's death was completely destroyed by the cut-throat nature of the school. She graduated, but unlike the other 12 graduates of her class, she chose not to take a job, but rather chose to continue working with Sherman and making her money that way. Family: Two parents; while she is not exactly alienated from them, they are not incredibly close, either. Athena's raising by them was very formal, as is the relationship between them.
