Kusakiko has always been considered peculiar. Her powers made her family shun her, and although her older sister Kojiro (Kozeniko) tried to defend her, at times even she had to concede the girl was never really playing with a full deck. When she was only eight, Kusakiko went to a carnival and was told by a fake fortune teller that lovers would set her free. After that she became obsessed with lovers, an obsession that tends to creep out anyone who doesn't really know her. Although medically trained (it's unknown whether she went to medical school or not), she prefers to use eastern medicine techniques that involve herbs. She followed her sister to Mugenjyou, where she earned the nickname "Miracle Worker" after she miraculously removed scars from the body of a little girl who had been in a fire, but after another little girl died on her she refused to cure people, only treat them. She eventually followed her sister to Amaya Hajime's hotel, and became his doctor and most loyal servant.
